DM FOOD ELITE PROGRAM
The Director General of Dubai Municipality announced the DM Food Elite Program during the opening of the 17th Dubai International Food Safety Conference in 2023.
The program will honor restaurants in Dubai that have consistently demonstrated leadership in food safety excellence combined with commitment to sustainability,
nutrition and social responsibility.
DM Food Elite recognition will be bestowed upon restaurants from each of the following three categories
Category 1: Top 3 stand-alone casual and formal dining restaurants
Category 2: Top 3 restaurants that are a part of a hotel
Category 3: Top 3 quick service food outlets and cafeteria
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Regulatory Compliance:
- Vision and values of the organization
- Alignment with Dubai’s strategic vision
- Compliance to relevant regulatory requirements
- Evidence of proactive governance mechanisms
Food Safety Excellence:
- Level of maturity in food safety culture
- Programs to ensure continual development
- Employee empowerment and upskilling
Nutrition, Sustainability and Social Responsibility:
- Commitment to nutrition related programs in Dubai
- Commitment to food loss and food waste reduction strategies
- Environmental and social responsibility programs
- Ethical practices
Innovation and Technology:
- Innovative approaches taken by the organization
- Use of targeted technology tools and solutions to enhance food safety and sustainability
- Digitalization and data informed decision making
